Flora & Fauna’s Chafer Beetle Treatment Program
Flora & Fauna provides options for addressing Chafer Beetle infestation, each providing an all natural means of control or elimination of the pest. The visible damage to lawns is the result of two factors; larvae feeding on the turf grass roots weakening the plant allowing mosses and other species to invade as well as the damage caused by surface predators (skunks, raccoons, crows etc.) which are in search of the grubs as they are one fine delicacy.
A close examination of damage caused by this feeding usually reveals that the predator has attacked an area where moss is growing or the turf is thin and yellowed. In both instances, the predators are exploiting an area of shallow or weakened root which provides easy access to the grubs. One reason for a property being affected while a neighboring property is not.
Flora & Fauna’s approach is to address the infestation with permanent, environmentally sound solutions while enhancing the desired use of the space by the homeowner.
SPECIAL NOTE: Last call to treat with Nematodes! Suppliers have limited quantities available, contact us to reserve yours now and schedule treatment .
Typical surface lawn damage resulting from feeding on grubs by predators. Note healthy, unaffected (although likely infested) neighboring lawn.
Two of Flora & Fauna’s treatment options. Treatment on the left is a complete replacement while that on the right is the result of over seeding with larvae resistant species such as White Dutch Clover.
